The Office of the Virgin Islands Inspector General released its report on the audit of the operations of the Taxicab Division. Weaknesses were found in the maintenance of the Medallion Registries, the safeguard of taxi medallions and license plates, and the enforcement of taxicab laws. We also found a lack of biannual inspections and Division funds being used for non-Division expenses. The Commissioner of Licensing agreed with the recommendations made.
